FAQ / Terms

Shipping:

Free international economy shipping is applied to all artwork purchases.
Artworks are dispatched from my studio in Finland within 7-10 days of purchase (unless otherwise stated).
Shipping times vary based on location. For an approximate time, please get in touch.
Please note that international orders may incur an import/duty fee upon arrival. This is the buyer’s responsibility to pay.
Works on paper will be sent flat-packed or rolled in a tube. Framed or stretched paintings will be sent in a box.
Once shipped, you will receive an email notification with a tracking number. Location tracking is usually available once it arrives in your destination country.
Express post and insurance are additional services that must be arranged in advance.

Payment:

All prices on my website are in EUR €.
I am not registered or required to charge VAT / GST.
International processing fees and import fees are the buyer’s responsibility.
Payments are securely processed with Stripe. Please visit Stripe for their terms of service.

Payment plans & commissions:

Commissions and payment plans are available and can be arranged on request.
For commissions, I require a non-refundable 50% deposit of the total artwork price before I create the artwork.
For payment plans, the first installment acts as a non-refundable deposit.
The artwork must be paid in full before it is shipped. By paying the deposit or first installment, you agree to the terms on your invoice.

Refunds, returns, and exchanges:

For any issues or concerns, please email laurenguymerart@gmail.com within 7 days of receiving the artwork.

Refunds and exchanges are not accepted based on a change of mind, including those purchased as a gift.
Pre-orders, sale items, and deposits for commissions and payment plans are final and non-refundable.
If an artwork was purchased externally through a gallery, exhibition, or store, please contact them for their return policy.
If you list incorrect shipping details, fail to collect your parcel, or refuse to pay your local import fees, the artwork will be returned to me. All associated shipping costs and fees for the return and re-shipment of the artwork will be invoiced to the buyer.

Materials, framing, & conservation:

Original artworks are unique and one-of-a-kind. I do not produce prints.
All artworks are created with high-quality archival materials.
Works on paper are sold unframed and are not ready for display. This is to avoid very high shipping costs and glass breaking in transport.
To ensure the longevity, protection, and value of the artwork, please visit a professional framer in your local area.
Pre-made photo and poster frames from chain stores will not protect the work, and the artwork will sadly deteriorate.
Stretched paper paintings, paper paintings on wooden panels, and oils on canvas are meticulously varnished and do not require a frame.
Displaying artworks away from direct sunlight, heat, humidity, and smoke are also crucial for preventing damage. If you would like further advice about the placement please get in touch.
Any damage incurred due to poor framing, display, and handling is not my responsibility.

Copyright:

No artwork or image can be reproduced or distributed, including those seen in exhibitions, public displays, and online.
Images and text can be used for educational purposes with reference to the artist.
Purchasing an artwork does not transfer the copyright ownership. Purchased artworks cannot be modified in any way, except for the external frame.

Privacy:

By submitting your contact information on my website and/or mailing list, you agree to have it securely stored via Squarespace.
I use this information for communication, shipping labels, invoices/receipts, and if selected, my newsletter database.
